Just wonderin.......... can you guys tell what shows and and when Don Morrow announced? I've seen that he was WoF's announcer, but can't seem to find when.

I was just wondering cause i noticed he is billed as the voice in the prologue in the new production of "Little Shop of Horrors".

Any info would be nice.

THANX

After Jay Stewart left Sale of The Century, Don Morrow took over from 1988-89.

And he also did The Challengers (1990-Dick Clark).

Us old timers remember Don Morrow when he was a host of something called "Let's Play Post Office".

He's also been an imaging voice for USA Network for the past several years - a post previously held by Alan Kalter.

We're talking about my favorite announcer here (sorry, Randy).
He announced one week of Wheel Of Fortune during the summer
of 1980 between Charlie O.'s departure and Jack Clark's arrival.
He also replaced Mark Driscoll (in the middle of a week) in the booth
during the short-lived late 80s Now You See It revival.
For a long time, Don was the voice of the Shell Answer Man.

No prob, Don. Morrow is a great guy and a classic voice with great warmth. We split the warm-up and announcer duties on "Challengers" circa 1990.

Everytime I see him these days I bring up my childhood fave show "Camouflage" that he hosted, and he shares a story of the early days. Last one (I posted this before) was the confusion over the 2 Dons on the original TPIR. Pardo was the show announcer and Morrow was the sponsor's commercial announcer. Don is one of the great old pros and has kept up to date with the changing times in technology (ISDN, etc.) and in style.

Didn't Bob Hilton succeed MOrrow on the CHallengers later in the run? I know Hilton announced the 5/24/91 episode on the trading circuit.

Bob filled in for a weeks along the way but Don held the job right up until
the final episode. Forgot to mention that for the first eight weeks of the
newsmagazine Personalities, when Charlie Rose was hosting and
before it turned into tabloid garbage, Don announced on that show, too.

This was the early 60s original Camouflage, which by accounts on Usenet was far superior to the 1980 Barrisized remake most of us are more familiar with.

For a long time, Don was the voice of the Shell Answer Man.

Wasn't Don THE Shell Answer Man? I recall the ads in the 1970s and 1980s where, via V.O., explained a certain information, then he stepped on camera to mention that the answers can be found in the latest booklet at Shell. Then, of course, a car crashes forward through the logo, with Don saying "Come To Shell For Answers", as the car drives away.

Anyone remember those ads. Until now, I didn't know that Don Morrow was the Shell Answer man (or at least, its voice), but I was very familiar with the Shell booklets we get at our local Shell gas station and in Reader's Digest. And of course, the accompanying ad campaign.

I also seem to remember Mr. Morrow in the 70s doing commercials for Fleishmann's margarine(whatever happened to that product?).

I do recall those Shell ads....I'm a gas station buff. I had forgotten that was Don.

Fleishmann's is still around.  I have the unsalted variety in my fridge right now.  Try it, it's pretty good, or should I say, you get used to it.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Speaking of Alan Kalter, isn't he doing work now for Fox News Channel in addition to Letterman?

Randy or anyone - are they still using actual ISDN? Hasn't some other kind of broadband replaced it?

Yeah, it exists, but economically it is totally unsound, as compared to DSL or cable modem.

Hey Chris, YOU'RE the techie. I'm so technology illiterate that I try to turn on my computer by lighting candles and singing Carpenters' songs.

I recently did a spot in LA for Washington Mutual Bank with the client directing from San Francisco... I THINK the producer said we were on ISDN. All I know is that the last time I was at Joe Cipriano's house he was ISDN'ing the CBS and FOX promos. If it's good enough for Cip, it's good enough for me!

Oh, and on topic... yes Don Morrow was the on-camera Shell Answer Man in those great spots.
